Voluntary Work

I received a call from one of my dear friend from college (Miss Inti) yesterday that she's doing a charity/voluntary work for a special group called Children's Protection Society. Its a project that is sponsored by Samsung which they store their events in their website called Samsung Hope. I'm glad that she called as I haven't been shooting much lately as most of the events held by Penangkia™ ShutterAsia was on Sunday which isn't a good day for me as I'll be working on my day job.

Today I was asked to attend a judo lesson near YMCA in Penang today for some shoots on the kids which is under the Children's Protection Society. This was my first time shooting such charity/voluntary work and I hope to get as much great shots as possible. But the timing wasn't that right since I have my primary lens in Canon Service Center which they're still trying to simulate the problem I mentioned and hopefully troubleshooting for the cause of it happening. Hence, I was forced to use my secondary lens Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 lens. This will be a great learning curve for me.

It was a great experience shooting in such charity event. I learned that children is the next generation for the world and was disappointing to see they're abuse in all sort of ways to have a club/society created to protect them from the gruesome facts in real life. Indeed with such difficult situation they're still able to put a smile which makes me think how thankful I am to be brought up by my parents. I'm really grateful and thankful to see company such as Samsung is doing a great deed for society.
